Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription inventory, including ordering and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and handle patient billing inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy technology systems (e.g., dispensing software, EMR)
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- PTCB certification or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy software
- Must pass background check and drug screening
