Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical events accurately
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuous education for surgical advancements
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Successful completion of accredited surgical technology program
