Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning.
- Pass instruments and sponges to the surgeon with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including proper draping and skin preparation.
- Monitor patient vitals and promptly communicate critical updates to the nursing staff.
- Manage specimen handling and documentation accurately.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and infection control standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
