In this role, you will play a critical part in the surgical process, working alongside experienced surgeons and nursing staff to deliver top-tier healthcare services in the heart of Glendale.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Surgical Team: Provide expert assistance to surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies with precision and speed.
- Sterile Processing: Maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for use.
- Preparation: Set up operating rooms according to surgical protocols, preparing the environment and supplies to ensure efficient workflow.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to code blue situations and other medical emergencies within the operating room.
- Patient Care: Educate patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative care instructions, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient information.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Technologist (CST/CSA) required.
- Licensure: Current ARMS registration or equivalent state licensure.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, anatomy, and aseptic technique.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
