Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies promptly.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize medical equipment before procedures.
- Maintain strict sterile field and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures.
- Collect and prepare tissue samples for pathology analysis.
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA protocols.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during the surgical process.
- Document surgical procedures and manage inventory usage accurately.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a surgical setting (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and anatomy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-pressure environment.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
