Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment before surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure a safe surgical count.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them and draping them appropriately.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room safely.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited surgical technology program is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork capabilities.
