Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment before procedures
- Sterilize instruments and maintain sterile environments per OSHA standards
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely and efficiently
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary – training provided!
- Certification eligibility (CST) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Pass background check and drug screening
