Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment per surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile environments throughout surgical cases
- Count and track all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before/after procedures
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with safety and comfort
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment and instruments post-procedure
- Document surgical activities accurately and maintain supply inventory
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- No prior surgical experience necessary – we provide paid training!
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred (training provided)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Commitment to maintaining sterile fields and patient safety protocols
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
