Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient calls to determine medical urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide accurate medical information and reassurance to patients per established protocols
- Document all patient interactions and assessments in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all communications
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance triage skills and medical knowledge
- Handle high-volume calls during peak hours while maintaining professionalism
Qualifications
- Recent nursing graduate or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure
- Strong computer literacy with willingness to learn EHR systems
