Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing the surgical site.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate accounting of supplies.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- No prior surgical experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients.
- CPR certification is a plus but not mandatory for the interview process.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
