Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, anticipating the surgeon's needs.
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterilization and aseptic technique protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any deviations to the charge nurse or surgeon.
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies and manage surgical waste responsibly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist with lifting/patient transfers.
- Willingness to complete the provided paid training curriculum.
- CPR certification (Basic Life Support) is highly preferred but not required upon application.
