Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and available.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sutures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and aseptic technique protocols at all times.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the charge nurse or surgeon immediately.
- Handle patient positioning and prepping with the highest level of care and comfort.
- Assist with patient transport to and from the operating suite as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification eligible (CSTA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, procedures, and instrument names.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
