Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and sterile supplies during operations.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and alert the anesthesiologist or surgeon of any abnormalities.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments accurately to ensure zero loss.
- Assist in draping and positioning patients for optimal surgical access.
- Perform proper cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Document surgical procedures and patient data with high accuracy.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
