In this role, you will be an integral part of the operating room team, ensuring smooth surgical procedures and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Preparation: Assist in preparing operating rooms and patients for surgery, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Scrubbing & Gowning: Properly scrub, gown, and glove surgeons and team members, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Instrument Management: Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs.
- Field Maintenance: Maintain the sterile field throughout surgery, controlling traffic and minimizing contamination.
- Patient Support: Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and comfort.
- Documentation: Accurately record procedures, supplies used, and patient observations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- CST Credential: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Licensure: Current Nevada State license (if applicable).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- BLS/ACLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to remain calm under pressure and strictly adhere to safety protocols.
