Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens and documentation according to protocols
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience in a fast-paced setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS certification and ability to work flexible hours
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to emergency procedures
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Washington State healthcare provider license preferred
