Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and sponge/needle counts
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce OSHA compliance standards
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic devices and robotic systems
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of scrub experience in general surgery
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover rotating shifts including weekends
