Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical case progress
- Handle and process biological specimens per hospital protocols
- Manage inventory and restock operating room supplies
- Adhere to strict OSHA and infection control standards
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
