As a Surgical Technician, you will be a vital member of the surgical team, ensuring that operating rooms are prepared, instruments are sterile, and procedures run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and supplies and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff or surgeon immediately.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure safety and prevent retained items.
- Prepare and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment used during operations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical Assistant (CS) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical procedures, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift equipment as needed.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
