Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Handle and sterilize equipment according to strict infection control protocols
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Document all procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols and OSHA standards
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
