Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies in surgical suites
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain equipment functionality through proper sterilization and maintenance
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS/CPR certification from an accredited provider
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
