Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis and proper documentation
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and hospital safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to optimize surgical workflows
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical processes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 2+ years of scrub experience in general surgery specialty
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to cover varied surgical schedules
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred
