Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields, surgical instruments, and equipment for all procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent surgical site infections
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for optimal patient positioning
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical equipment per hospital protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in emergency drills and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub tech experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and procedure-specific instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
