Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterility
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis and proper documentation
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies between cases
- Transport patients and equipment safely within surgical suites
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case turnover
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred (new grads welcome)
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends/on-call shifts
