Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotics and endoscopy systems
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Document procedural activities in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Proficiency in robotic surgery systems (e.g., da Vinci)
- BLS certification with current ACLS preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Ability to stand 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic surgical documentation systems
