Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and sterilization protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification and current Texas license
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with robotic surgery systems (e.g., da Vinci) a plus
