Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging sterile instruments, and ensuring all supplies are ready
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and order surgical supplies to maintain optimal stock levels
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Document procedures accurately and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care coordination
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Expert knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Proficiency with electronic health records and surgical documentation systems
- BLS/CPR certification and ability to maintain throughout employment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
