Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for emergencies
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical workflows
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible for immediate certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery or subspecialties
- Proven knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Current BLS/CPR certification
