Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Operate sterilization equipment and manage inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Current BLS certification and TB clearance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
