Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team immediately.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use.
- Handle specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Move patients to and from the operating room using appropriate transfer techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, procedures, and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Attention to detail and high physical stamina.
