Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all sterile instruments and equipment are functioning correctly prior to surgery.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures, anticipating the surgeon’s needs for instruments, sutures, and sponges.
- Maintain a sterile field by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team immediately.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite in a safe and comfortable manner.
- Properly handle and dispose of surgical specimens and hazardous materials according to safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Valid Arizona State Surgical Technologist license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
