Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and monitor aseptic techniques throughout operations
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens to appropriate areas
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and sterilizers
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Graduation from accredited Surgical Technology program
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment sterilization
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Pennsylvania Surgical Tech license (if applicable)
