Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, drapes, linens, and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor and maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure patient safety by verifying patient identity and preparing the surgical site.
- Handle and dispose of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the surgical suite.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in stressful environments.
