Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and supplies before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle and sterilize specialized surgical equipment including robotic systems
- Monitor inventory and restock operating room supplies with company-provided equipment
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards for equipment handling
- Document equipment usage and maintenance in electronic health records
- Train on new surgical technologies as they're implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and equipment sterilization techniques
- Knowledge of robotic surgical systems and modern surgical equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Valid Michigan surgical technologist license
