Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and supplies before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile field and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments according to established protocols
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated patient care
- Manage inventory and restock surgical supplies post-procedure
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Current BLS certification
