Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning and draping
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment in sterile processing areas
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital setting preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and equipment maintenance protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- El Paso residency preferred
