Responsibilities
- Assist the Surgical Team: Provide direct assistance to surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Preparation: Ensure operating rooms are fully prepared and sterile before surgeries, including setting up instruments and equipment.
- Equipment Management: Utilize and maintain complex surgical equipment provided by the facility, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately document procedures, supplies used, and patient conditions in medical records.
- Sanitization: Perform thorough cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments and the operating room environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and the ability to follow strict sterile protocols.
