Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to prevent infection.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor the patient's condition and respond to any changes during the operation.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite with extreme care.
- Perform post-operative cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification Eligible (NCCT/CNA).
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical terminology.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
