Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and prepare sterile dressings
- Inventory surgical supplies and manage equipment sterilization processes
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of recent surgical tech experience in ambulatory settings
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument sterilization techniques
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in surgical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
