Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis and documentation
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies in ORs
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification with current renewal date
- Proficiency in sterile processing and instrument handling
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call rotations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
