Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical equipment and inventory with meticulous attention to detail
- Implement sterilization protocols and maintain OSHA/JCAHO compliance
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedural outcomes accurately in electronic health records
- Mentor junior staff on advanced surgical techniques
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level I trauma or specialty surgical services
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery
- Proven track record in sterile processing and equipment management
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Associates degree in Surgical Technology or related field
