Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with proper safety protocols
- Document procedural information accurately and maintain sterile processing logs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Nebraska Surgical Tech license (or ability to obtain immediately)
