Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and supplies and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sponges, maintaining a clear field of view.
- Verify proper function of surgical equipment and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition during surgery.
- Properly handle and dispose of surgical specimens and biohazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and inventory levels.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
