Responsibilities
- Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all supplies are stocked and ready.
- Patient Safety: Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and positioning them correctly.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient data, surgical counts, and medical history.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot surgical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Turnover: Efficiently manage room turnover between surgeries to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required (associate degree in surgical technology is a plus).
- Certification: Must be willing to obtain CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification through our paid training program.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous nature required for handling sterile instruments and patient safety.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with the surgical team.
