Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies efficiently.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain a strict sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes immediately to the surgical team.
- Position patients properly on the operating table and ensure their safety and comfort.
- Assist in draping and preparing the patient for incision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient transfers.
