Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout the surgical process to prevent infection.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Prepare patients for surgery by shaving, cleaning, and marking the surgical site.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs during surgery.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite safely.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning.
