Responsibilities
- Prepares Operating Room: Sets up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring sterility and functionality before procedures.
- Surgical Assistance: Assists the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and nurses.
- Patient Safety: Maintains strict aseptic technique to prevent surgical site infections and ensure patient safety throughout the procedure.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitors and records patient vital signs and anesthesia information, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Post-Procedure Care: Assists in transferring patients to recovery rooms and ensuring the proper cleaning and restocking of the operating suite.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and certification (CST or CTS) required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and high attention to detail.
