Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count and track surgical instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical department
- Clean and sterilize equipment according to infection control protocols
- Document all surgical activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary - training provided
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Pass background check and drug screening
