Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and maintaining sterile fields
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them safely for procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/during/after surgery to prevent retention
- Process and sterilize reusable surgical equipment following infection control standards
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to ensure seamless workflow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (will be sponsored upon hire)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain sterile environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced settings
