Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Handle surgical specimens and equipment processing
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage inventory and restock surgical supplies between cases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from accredited Surgical Technology program (or willing to complete within 6 months)
- BLS certification required (will provide training if not certified)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Valid Texas driver's license (for facility transport if needed)
