Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical fields and equipment under surgeon guidance
- Assist with patient positioning and draping procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgical team during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Inventory and sterilize surgical instruments post-procedure
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams for seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- No prior surgical experience necessary - training provided
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Florida Surgical Tech certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid BLS/CPR certification or obtainable within 30 days
